Amaretto bottle and label
Rational
The bottle design is inspired by the origin story of amaretto, blending historical narrative with visual symbolism. It centers on a stylized depiction of the Madonna, with a nimbus behind her that contains key product information, and she is shown holding the bottle to reinforce the connection between myth and product. The most popular legend traces the drink back to Bernardino Luini, a student of Leonardo da Vinci, who was commissioned to paint a fresco of the Madonna in Saronno. In the story, the woman who modeled for the Madonna created the almond liqueur as a gift of gratitude. The typography echoes illuminated manuscripts, further emphasizing the drink’s religious and historical roots.
